Randy Evans has served as the Bolles junior varsity lacrosse coach since 2003. Along with Charlie Tomm, Jeff Burns and Matt Breuer, he formed Lighthouse Lacrosse Foundation in June 2007.
A 1969 graduate of Princeton University, Evans was a three-year letter winner with both the Tigers' lacrosse and hockey teams. An All-Ivy defenseman, he served as captain of the lacrosse team as a senior. After graduation, Evans served in the Navy as an officer in the Civil Engineer Corps and was assigned to a SeaBee Battalion deployed to several Southeast Asian countries. He received his Masters Degree in Public Policy from the JF Kennedy School of Government at Harvard in 1975 and moved to Baltimore where he married Lynn Bradley. He began work for Mayor William Donald Schaefer in City Redevelopment and again as Secretary of Economic and Employment Development when Schafer was elected Governor. In 1991 , Evans began at 13 year career with CSX which brought his family to Jacksonville where he was instrumental in starting High School Lacrosse in North East Florida with the first Bolles club team in 1994.
Evans attended Phillips Academy Andover in New England where he played varsity lacrosse, hockey and was captain of the football team. His son Paul is a 1999 Bolles alumnus and played on the lacrosse team, making the North All Star team his senior year when Bolles reached the state final four. His daughter Ann, also graduated from Bolles where she played Varsity Volleyball. Lynn Evans continues to support our Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra in the Development office where she is responsible for Annual Giving. |
